Brad Pitt's production company, Plan B Entertainment, through its European arm based in London, has recently bolstered its leadership team with two significant appointments. These strategic hires are set to enhance the company's development and production capabilities across the United Kingdom and continental Europe, signaling a period of expansion and intensified creative output for the acclaimed studio.

Plan B Europe Welcomes New Producers to Bolster UK and European Film and Television Initiatives

In a pivotal move for its European operations, Plan B Entertainment, co-founded by Brad Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner, has announced the addition of Maria Fleischer as Executive Producer and Charlie Silver as Development Producer. This significant expansion for Plan B Europe, which has been under the Mediawan umbrella since 2022, aims to accelerate the creation and realization of film and television projects throughout the U.K. and wider European market. The announcement, made on April 1, 2026, highlights the company's ongoing commitment to fostering innovative storytelling.

Ed Macdonald, who leads Plan B Europe since its inception in 2025, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the new appointments. He emphasized that both Fleischer and Silver bring exceptional editorial acumen and valuable industry connections, which are crucial for cultivating a unique and impactful slate of productions. Macdonald warmly welcomed them, stating their integration would significantly contribute to the "Plan B family's" continued growth.

Maria Fleischer’s career journey includes a formative period at Origin Pictures, followed by a role in Fox Searchlight’s U.K. development and production division. Her expertise deepened during her tenure as Head of Development at DNA Films and TV, where she not only managed the feature film pipeline but also played a key role in developing a television slate under an FX overall deal. Notably, she worked on a series adaptation of Kazuo Ishiguro’s "Never Let Me Go." Prior to joining Plan B Europe, Fleischer served as Vice President of Original Development at Sony Pictures Television International, where she was instrumental in building a television slate for their internal studio.

Charlie Silver joins Plan B Europe after eight years at Tessa Ross’ House Productions. During his time there, he honed his skills in developing diverse projects spanning both film and television. His television credits include involvement in James Graham’s "Sherwood" for the BBC and Stephen Butchard’s "The Good Mothers" for Disney+/Hulu. In the cinematic realm, Silver contributed to the development of Andrea Arnold’s "Bird" and Danny Boyle’s "Ink," a film starring Jack O’Connell and Guy Pearce, which is currently in its post-production phase.

The strategic hires of Fleischer and Silver underscore Plan B Europe's ambitious vision to expand its creative footprint and reinforce its position as a leading force in international film and television production. Their combined experience and proven track records are expected to be invaluable assets as the company continues to shape compelling narratives for audiences worldwide. This move reflects a broader trend of increased investment and collaboration within the European entertainment landscape.

The latest strategic hires by Plan B Europe illuminate the dynamic evolution of the global entertainment industry, particularly in how major production entities are strengthening their international presence. This development prompts reflection on the increasing importance of localized content and talent in achieving worldwide success. It also highlights the intricate balance between maintaining a distinctive creative vision and adapting to diverse cultural landscapes, suggesting a future where global narratives are enriched by a wider array of voices and perspectives. The commitment to fostering strong regional teams, as demonstrated by Plan B Europe, indicates a proactive approach to discovering and nurturing talent, ultimately leading to a more vibrant and diverse cinematic and television offering for audiences around the world.
