Nintendo is actively encouraging its Switch 2 console owners to utilize the integrated GameChat functionalities through a newly introduced "Missions & Rewards" program. This initiative comes shortly after the conclusion of a complimentary access offer for the voice and video communication features. Players are now invited to engage with GameChat to unlock exclusive themed user icons and accumulate valuable My Nintendo Points, reinforcing Nintendo's push for increased social interaction within its gaming ecosystem.

Nintendo's Latest Initiative: Boosting GameChat Engagement on Switch 2

In a strategic move to foster greater use of its online communication tools, Nintendo officially rolled out its "Missions & Rewards" event for the Switch 2's GameChat feature. This program, which commenced just days after a prior free trial period concluded, targets users of the latest Nintendo console. Participants can access the GameChat function either by selecting its icon from the console's HOME Menu or by pressing the dedicated C Button on their right Joy-Con 2 controller. Upon successful activation and completion of the initial setup process, users are eligible to receive GameChat-themed user icons. These unique digital collectibles can be acquired for 10 Platinum Points each. Furthermore, active Nintendo Switch Online members who fulfill these requirements will also be awarded 100 My Nintendo Points. This limited-time promotion is set to conclude on April 22, 2026, marking a specific window for players to benefit from these incentives. It is important to note that, following the end of the previous free access promotion, an active Nintendo Switch Online membership is now a prerequisite for utilizing GameChat features.
