Fans can look forward to diving back into beloved universes and discovering compelling new narratives.

Netflix's April 2026 Streaming Showcase

In the spring of 2026, specifically starting on April 1st, Netflix commenced its monthly content rollout, headlined by several much-anticipated titles. The month kicks off with the third season of XO, Kitty on April 2nd, starring Anna Cathcart as Kitty Song Covey navigating her senior year at KISS in Seoul. This eight-episode season, helmed by new showrunner Valentina Garza, brings back Minyeong Choi, Gia Kim, and Sang Heon Lee, as Kitty confronts escalating secrets and challenges.

Later in the month, April 10th marks the debut of the survival thriller Thrash, a film directed and written by Tommy Wirkola. Featuring Phoebe Dynevor, Whitney Peak, and Djimon Hounsou, this movie, originally slated for a theatrical release, follows a coastal town devastated by a hurricane, bringing hungry sharks in its wake. On April 16th, the multi-Emmy-winning series Beef returns for its second season. Created by Lee Sung Jin and produced by A24, this installment introduces a fresh ensemble cast including Carey Mulligan, Oscar Isaac, Charles Melton, and Cailee Spaeny, centering on a blackmail conflict within an elite country club.

Comedy takes center stage on April 20th with Funny AF with Kevin Hart, a stand-up competition series where Kevin Hart and guest judges like Keegan-Michael Key and Tom Segura seek out the next comedic sensation. Winners will earn their own Netflix special. April 23rd brings the second season of the basketball drama Running Point, with Kate Hudson reprising her role as Isla Gordon, president of the Los Angeles Waves. Executive produced by Mindy Kaling, this season adds Uche Agada and Justin Theroux to the cast as Isla deals with team chaos and a complex love life during championship season. Also on April 23rd, the animated spin-off Stranger Things: Tales From '85 transports viewers to the winter of 1985 in Hawkins, bridging the second and third seasons of the original series with a voice cast including Odessa A’zion.

Thriller enthusiasts will also enjoy Apex, premiering on April 24th, starring Charlize Theron, Taron Egerton, and Eric Bana. Directed by Baltasar Kormákur, this film sees Theron’s character, a grieving woman on a solo journey in the Australian wilderness, become the target of a cunning killer. Concluding the month on April 30th is the series premiere of Man on Fire, a modern reimagining of A.J. Quinnell’s novel. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II steps into the role of John Creasy, a former mercenary battling PTSD, drawn back into action on a quest for redemption, with Kyle Killen serving as writer and showrunner.

This month's Netflix offerings highlight the platform's commitment to delivering a wide range of captivating stories and quality productions. The diverse slate, from the continuing narratives of beloved characters to fresh, high-stakes thrillers, ensures that viewers will find plenty to engage with. It's a clear demonstration of Netflix's strategy to appeal to various demographics and entertainment preferences, solidifying its position as a leading global streaming service.
